The LICP difference
- Both saddle stitch and perfect bind in one shop. We tell you which fits your page count, we do not push the more expensive option.

- 7-day ship window applies the same way to 50 booklets and 500.
- Local pickup in Huntington for time-critical event programs.
- Cover and body finishes are independent. You spec each side, not a packaged bundle.
- Reprint guarantee on manufacturer defects.
FAQs
What is the difference between saddle stitch and perfect bind?
Saddle stitch is two staples through the fold of a folded-and-collated booklet. It works for 8-64 pages, lays mostly flat, and is the lower-cost option. Perfect bind glues a flat spine, accepts a printed spine title, and looks more like a paperback book. Perfect bind makes sense at 48+ pages or when the booklet sits on a shelf or table.
How many pages can a saddle-stitched booklet have?
Page count must be a multiple of 4 because each printed sheet folds in half and produces 4 pages. Our standard saddle-stitch range is 8 to 64 pages. Past 64 pages, the staples start to bow the spine and perfect bind becomes the right choice.
What stocks do you use for the cover vs body?
The cover is typically 100lb gloss cover, 80lb silk cover, or 14pt card for a heavier feel. The body pages run 80lb or 100lb silk text. Mixing a heavy cover and a lighter body keeps the booklet flat and easy to flip without doubling the weight.
Can the cover have a different finish from the body?
Yes. The cover commonly carries gloss UV, matte AQ, or matte lamination. The body usually runs uncoated or silk-finish text for readability. You can spec each independently in the configurator.
What sizes do you offer?
The two standard sizes in the catalog are 8.5x11 (letter) and 8.5x5.5 (half-letter). Letter is right for product catalogs and reports. Half-letter is right for event programs, menus, and pocket-size literature. Custom trim sizes are configurable on request.
