FAQs
Which menu finish survives kitchen and dining room use?
For an in-house menu handled at every table, matte or gloss lamination is the durable option. Both seal the printed sheet between thin plastic films, making the menu wipeable and water-resistant. UV coating is thinner and less durable than full lamination but cheaper. For a single-use take-out menu, AQ coating is enough.
What size is a standard restaurant menu?
In-house menus are commonly 8.5x11 or 11x17 single sheets, sometimes folded. Take-out menus are typically 8.5x11 tri-folded, 8.5x14 tri-folded, or 11x17 bi-folded. Drink and dessert menus are often 4x9 narrow inserts. The right size depends on item count and table size.
How often should we reprint menus?
Two patterns work. Either reprint a small run (50-100) every 3-6 weeks as the menu changes, or print a larger laminated run (250-500) that lasts 6-12 months for stable items, with seasonal inserts on cheaper stock. Restaurants with frequent menu changes save money on the small-run approach.
Can I print a menu with different sides on different stocks?
Inside the same job, no. Each item in the catalog is a single specification. If you need two stocks (heavy laminated cover + lighter insert), order them as two separate jobs. A booklet menu format does support a different cover stock from body pages.
Do you handle menu design or just printing?
We print. Menu layout falls under our design services if you need a layout built from scratch. If you already have a designer, upload your PDF and we proof and print it. Our preflight will catch low-res images and bleed issues before press.
