EDDM Printing in Long Island

EDDM stands for Every Door Direct Mail, a USPS service that lets you mail a printed piece to every address on a postal carrier route without buying a mailing list or addressing each piece. You pick the routes (by ZIP code or carrier route), print EDDM-compliant postcards, bundle them, and drop them at your local post office. USPS delivers one to every active address on the route. Current EDDM Retail postage is $0.21 per piece, paid at the post office at drop-off.

USPS EDDM Retail requires the mailer to fall within specific size limits: longer than 10.5 inches OR taller than 6.125 inches, and within 12x15 maximum. The most common EDDM size is 6.125x11 inches. Anything smaller falls outside the EDDM rule and requires a standard mailing permit. Our 6x11 jumbo postcard meets EDDM requirements out of the box.

We print and bundle the postcards in counts of 50 or 100 ready for USPS EDDM Retail drop-off. You handle the USPS Form 3587 submission and the $0.21 per piece postage payment at the post office. We do not currently offer a full mail-house service (where we deliver directly to USPS on your behalf), but printing and bundling are included in the order.

The USPS EDDM Online Tool lets you search by ZIP code or address and see the carrier routes in that area, with counts of residential and business addresses on each route. Pick the routes you want, note the route IDs, and submit them on USPS Form 3587 at the post office. For Long Island, most contractors and restaurants target 3 to 8 routes in their immediate service area.

Standard production is 7 days or less from proof approval, the same as any other postcard order. Proof typically comes within one business day of file upload. Plan to drop the order at USPS the day after you receive it. Add a couple of days for USPS to deliver the routes. So order Monday, drop the bundle the following Wednesday, in mailboxes by the end of that week or early the next.
