What affects the price?
- Quantity. Per-piece print cost drops at 1,000, 2,500, and 5,000. Postage stays flat per piece.
- Stock. 14pt is the default. 16pt and 18pt lamination add a small per-piece cost but feel premium.
- Finish. AQ default, UV high gloss, or matte for low glare.
- Size. Must be 6.125 x 11.5 in or larger to qualify for retail EDDM. The common workhorse is 6x9.
- Design help. Mailer must include the USPS EDDM Indicia. We can add it; print-ready PDFs that already have it are free.
- Mailing prep. EDDM bundles must be stacked in groups of 50-100 with the USPS paperwork. We can prep this for Long Island campaigns.
- USPS postage. $0.207/piece retail as of late 2025. Confirm current rate on USPS.com.
How LICP EDDM pricing compares
The postage half of EDDM is set by USPS — every printer pays the same rate. The print half is where shops actually compete. Our postcards print on commercial-grade presses to the same standard you'll find at any major online printer. The LICP edge on EDDM specifically is local: we can prep your bundles, place the Indicia correctly on the design, and coordinate the USPS drop for Long Island ZIP codes. Live print pricing means no quote forms — you see your real total in seconds.

FAQs
What is EDDM and how does it work?
EDDM (Every Door Direct Mail) is a USPS service that delivers a printed mailer to every address on a postal carrier route. You don't need a mailing list. You choose ZIP codes or carrier routes on the USPS EDDM tool, print 6x9 or larger postcards that meet EDDM size specs, bundle them in stacks of 50-100, and drop them at the post office (or have us mail them for you).
How much is USPS postage for EDDM?
Retail EDDM postage is about $0.207 per piece as of late 2025. So 1,000 pieces costs roughly $207 in postage, on top of the print cost. Always confirm the current rate on USPS.com before budgeting — postage rates change annually.
What's the total cost formula?
Total cost = (print cost per piece × quantity) + (postage per piece × quantity) + optional design fee + optional mailing prep fee. For 1,000 EDDM postcards on 14pt + AQ, that's roughly: print starts around $10.95+ SKU floor with quantity scaling, plus ~$207 USPS postage, plus design if needed.
Do you charge extra for design help?
Print-ready PDFs are free to upload. EDDM postcard design typically starts at our standard design rate — see /design-services. The mailer must include the EDDM Indicia (a USPS-required block), which we can place for you.
Can LICP drop the mailers at USPS for me, or do I have to?
We can prep and bundle EDDM-ready mailers for you (proper bundle counts, paperwork, and Indicia). You or we drop the bundles at the local post office — we coordinate this for Long Island customers as part of our direct-mail service.
What size postcard works for EDDM?
The mailer must be larger than 6.125 x 11.5 in or fall within a specific size range. The most common EDDM-eligible size is 6x9. We carry 6x9 EDDM-ready postcard SKUs on the postcard product pages.
