Frequently asked questions
What size postcards do you offer?
Standard sizes include 4x6, 5x7, 6x9, 6x11 jumbo, and EDDM-compliant sizes for USPS Every Door Direct Mail (between 6.125x4.25 and 12x15). The configurator on each product page shows the supported sizes for that stock. 4x6 is the volume standard for direct mail. 6x9 jumbo gets noticed in the mailbox. 6x11 EDDM size is required if you are sending through USPS EDDM.
What is the difference between 14pt, 16pt, and 18pt postcards?
14pt is the volume standard, the same stock as 14pt business cards. It feels solid and resists bending in the mail stream. 16pt is noticeably heavier and reads as more premium. 18pt with matte or silk lamination is the heaviest standard postcard stock, often used for high-end real estate listings or restaurant menus that get reused.
Can I send these as EDDM through USPS?
Yes. Order an EDDM-compliant size (6.125x4.25 minimum, 12x15 maximum, with one side at least 5 inches and one side at least 10.5 inches for the most common formats) and we will print them ready to drop at the post office. You handle the USPS EDDM Retail submission and pay the $0.21 per piece postage. We do not currently provide a full mail-house service, but printing and bundling is included.
What file format should I upload for postcards?
PDF in CMYK at 300 dpi. 0.0625 inch bleed per side (1/16 inch per side, 1/8 inch total across each dimension). Place anything important inside a 0.125 inch safe area from trim. For EDDM postcards, leave the upper-right corner clear for the USPS indicia and address block, per USPS guidelines. The configurator includes template downloads for each size.
How long does it take to receive postcards?
Standard production is 7 days or less from proof approval. Proof typically within one business day of file upload. So order Monday, proof Tuesday, approve Tuesday, ready by the following Tuesday at the latest. Huntington pickup or free shipping over $150.
